Unstable weather expected amid meteorological warnings

SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based National Center for Meteorology and early warning warned citizens in the mountainous highlands and desert areas of extremely cold weather.

In its weather forecast, the center explained that the mountainous highlands in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Marib, Mahweet, and Hajjah would impact very cold weather, with a frost wave expecting to form.

The center urged farmers to take precautionary measures to protect their crops from frost damage, and warned sea visitors, fishermen and ship captains in the south-west coast, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Socotra archipelago of rough seas and high waves.

It called on the elderly, children, the sick and workers during the night and early morning to take the necessary precautions.

The center pointed out that the coastal areas would experience partly cloudy weather with the possibility of sporadic rains, especially on the Socotra Archipelago.
