AMSTERDAM, Dec. 23 (YPA) – Dozens of Dutch activists gathered inside the “Glass House of Resistance” in a square in Rotterdam, Netherlands, for four consecutive days to raise funds and support emergency responses in Palestine, Sudan, and the Congo.
This year, the organizers of the “Glass House of Resistance” focused on telling human stories rather than simply counting victims, by giving survivors, journalists, aid workers, and artists a platform to share their experiences firsthand.
Louise de Klein, a member of the Rotterdam Palestine Coalition and Physicians for Gaza said, “We don’t just want to collect money; we also want to change the practices of our governments, stop their complicity, and call on people to boycott, divest, and impose sanctions, especially with regard to Palestine.”
For his part, Pim van Os, one of the participants in the event’s technical support and broadcasting, said, “We are here to keep these issues in the public consciousness. Many people think that things are over as soon as they hear the word ‘ceasefire,’ but the humanitarian disasters in Sudan and Palestine are still ongoing and are not receiving enough coverage.”
