SANAA, Dec. 03 (YPA) – The General Committee of the General People’s Congress(GPC), in its meeting on Wednesday, unanimously voted to appoint Sheikh Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, First Deputy Chairman of the General People’s Congress, as Secretary-General of the Congress.
The meeting, chaired by Sheikh al-Ra’i, began with the recitation of the Fatiha in memory of the General Committee member and Prime Minister, the martyr Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi, and his fellow martyrs, and all the martyrs of the nation, who were killed as a result of the American-Zionist aggression against Yemen.
The General Committee congratulated the people of Yemen on the fifty-eighth anniversary of the expulsion of the British occupier from the south of the country on November 30, 1967, affirming that the Yemeni people will write a new chapter in the struggle against the new occupiers and will expel them as they expelled the British occupier before.
At the meeting, Sheikh al-Ra’i reviewed the developments on the ground, reiterating the position of the General People’s Congress, which emphasizes the unity and cohesion of the home front between the Congress and Ansar Allah to confront the aggression, the blockade, and all the conspiracies targeting Yemen, its unity, and its stability.
