Aden Governor calls for national unity to liberate “occupied Yemeni governorates”
SANAA, Dec. 01 (YPA) – The Governor of Aden governorate appointed by Sanaa Government, Tariq Sallam, affirmed that the 58th anniversary of the Independence Day on November 30 must be a starting point for continuing the struggle until the “new occupation is expelled.”
In a statement to the Sanaa-based official “Saba” News Agency, Sallam stressed that liberation from Britain was only achieved through “unity of ranks and concerted efforts” among all Yemeni governorates, making liberation “a purely Yemeni project.”
The Governor accused the “new occupation,” led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, of adopting methods that are fundamentally similar to the practices of the former British occupation through seizing national decision-making through economic and military guardianship, control over ports and strategic sites, dismantling institutions and fueling regional conflicts, and forming armed militias to loot wealth and implement foreign agendas.
Sallam called on all national and social forces across Yemen to unify visions and national alignment to confront the new project that threatens to divide Yemen and completely strip its sovereignty.
He concluded by asserting that the “unified will of the Yemeni people” is capable of defeating any occupation that obstructs its path to freedom.
