130 Palestinians injured in Israeli aggression on Tubas

TUBAS, Nov. 29 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army continues, for the fourth consecutive day, to impose a crippling siege on the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank, as part of its largest military operation in years.

According to Palestinian sources,  Director of Ambulance and Emergency Services in Tubas Governorate Nidal Odeh said that ambulance crews have dealt with 130 injuries since the beginning of the aggression on Tubas Governorate.

Sixty-six of the injuries were transferred to hospitals, while the remaining cases were treated on-site.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression and siege on Tubas Governorate for three consecutive days, turning several homes into military barracks.

The occupation forces withdrew from Tammun on Friday morning after two days of siege and raid, leaving behind destruction to infrastructure and citizens’ property.

This escalation came after the Israeli occupation had launched a large-scale military operation in the northern West Bank on Wednesday, imposing a curfew, setting up roadblocks, and deploying additional forces, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.

In a joint statement, the Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency said they “began operating as part of a broad counterterrorism operation” in the area.

For his part, Tubas Governor Ahmed Asaad affirmed that the occupation informed them that the operation would continue for several days, meaning the governorate and surrounding areas are facing an open-ended phase of military escalation.

For its part, the Hamas movement stated that the operation comes as part of the annexation and displacement plans being carried out by the Israeli occupation through turning West Bank cities and towns into besieged areas cut off from one another, and preventing any aspects of normal life in an attempt to impose a security reality that serves its settlement projects

The movement called for heightened national unity to confront the Zionist “open war,” urging the alignment of popular, political, and field efforts to counter the Israeli ongoing policy of “eradication” against West Bank residents.
