Iran’s IRGC dismantles terrorist cell linked to “Israel” and US

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (YPA) – Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces announced on Saturday that they had dismantled a terrorist cell linked to Israeli enemy and the United States in the Saravan area of Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran.

Iran’s official news agency quoted a statement by the Quds Headquarters of the IRGC Ground Forces as saying that the cell had been planning a series of terrorist attacks against pre-selected targets in the southern part of the province amid the U.S. war, adding that the planned operations had been thwarted.

The statement said the operation was carried out following precise intelligence monitoring, and that the cell was dealt a decisive blow upon its arrival in the area.

It added that the operation was conducted through joint coordination between Quds Headquarters forces, the provincial security department, the IRGC Intelligence Organization and provincial police.

The operation resulted in the death of one cell member and the arrest of six others, according to the statement. Security forces also seized 20 explosive devices and related detonation equipment, large quantities of light and semi-heavy weapons and ammunition, as well as advanced Starlink communications equipment.

The statement warned what it called Israeli and U.S. agents that Iran’s security is a red line, stressing that the armed forces and security agencies would take firm action against any moves aimed at undermining the country’s stability.
