Sanaa’s Foreign Ministry discusses humanitarian cooperation with ICRC, MSF

SANAA, Nov. 24 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Sanaa government met on Monday with a number of heads of international missions to discuss strengthening joint cooperation and humanitarian efforts in Yemen.

Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahed Abu Ras met with the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Sanaa, Christine Schiboula, and the heads of the missions of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) (French, Swiss, and Spanish).

During the meetings, Abu Ras stressed the importance of redoubling humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the aggression and siege, noting the Sanaa government’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to enable the organizations to perform their humanitarian role. He also referred to the repeated violations of prisoners’ rights by the Saudi-led coalition’s militants.

For her part, Schiboula affirmed the ICRC mission’s commitment to continuing support and contributing to the improvement of the humanitarian situation.

Meanwhile, the heads of the MSF missions praised the existing cooperation with the ministry, affirming their commitment to continue providing all possible health support to the affected sector.
