Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office: Prisoner Abbas al-Sayed’s life is in danger

WEST BANK, Nov. 25 (YPA) – The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office confirmed, on Tuesday, that the Zionist prison administration is committing a brutal crime against the prisoner, Commander Abbas al-Sayed (59 years old), from the city of Tulkarm, who is currently being held in solitary confinement in Megiddo Prison under harsh and inhumane conditions.

The Prisoners’ Office stated that legal testimonies received by the office revealed the extent of the brutal physical assault to which Commander Abbas al-Sayed was subjected. He showed clear bruises, blue marks, and severe emaciation. His eyes appeared swollen, proving the direct assault against him. He was dragged, handcuffed, in a humiliating manner to the visiting room. His hands also showed deep marks from the iron restraints as a result of being dragged and violently bound.

According to testimonies, he was also severely beaten on November 4, 2025, while being transferred to court, both upon his release from solitary confinement and while detained in the waiting room, as part of a systematic policy targeting leaders of the prisoner movement.

The Prisoners’ Media Office stated that what Commander Abbas al-Sayed is being subjected to is a slow killing and deliberate liquidation carried out away from the eyes of the world against symbols of the national prisoner movement, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, especially the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit cruel and degrading treatment of prisoners.

The Prisoners’ Media Office warned that the life of Commander Abbas al-Sayed is in real danger, given the continued brutal attacks against him, holding the occupation fully responsible for his life.

It called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations, especially the Red Cross, to intervene urgently, open an immediate investigation, and send monitoring committees to check on leader Abbas al-Sayed and work to stop the escalating crimes committed against prisoners.
