BEIRUT, Nov. 24 (YPA) – Hezbollah and large crowds of Lebanese people on Monday laid to rest senior military commander Haitham Ali Al-Tabtabai (Sayyed Abu Ali), who was assassinated alongside several fighters in a treacherous Israeli strike on a residential building in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday.
Thousands gathered in Ghobeiry area for the farewell procession before the cortege moved toward Rawdat Al-Shuhadaa (Martyrs’ graveyard).
The turnout reflected public appreciation for Sayyed Tabtabai’s long record in frontline operations and his role in confronting the Israeli occupation until the final moments of his life.
During the funeral ceremony, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, Sheikh Ali Damoush, affirmed that the martyred leader was one of the men of the field and a hero of the first operations, and with his departure, the resistance lost one of the most prominent architects of its victories and strategies.
