SANAA, Nov. 23 (YPA) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Sanaa on Sunday reiterated its commitment to the continued ban on external raisin imports.
This move is aimed at protecting and encouraging local production of the crop, preventing losses for farmers, and avoiding the depletion of hard currency.
In an issued statement, the ministry denied the authenticity of a forged document circulated recently on social media platforms concerning a supposed authorization to import foreign raisins. The ministry confirmed that the document is entirely unrelated to it and that its format and wording are inconsistent with official government templates.
The ministry urged importers to adhere to the issued directive and stressed that it reserves the right to take necessary legal action against those responsible for forging or publishing documents intended to mislead public opinion.
