Al-Mashawalah tribe forces “Tariq Afash” troops to withdraw from Al-Wazi’iyah villages

TAIZ, Nov. 22 (YPA) – The sons of the Al-Mashawalah tribe in the Al-Wazi’iyah district, Taiz Governorate, forced the UAE-funded forces of “Tariq Afash” to withdraw from the vicinity of their villages, following armed confrontations and tensions that persisted since the middle of last week.

Local sources confirmed that dozens of military vehicles left the area after the tribesmen rallied to confront the assaults and violations that targeted citizens and caused panic.

The tribesmen issued a statement announcing their outright rejection of the armed mobilization brought in from Mocha to besiege their villages and turn them into a conflict zone. They described the military campaigns and the restriction of citizens’ movement as a violation and dangerous escalation that deviates from societal norms.

The Sheikh of Al-Wazi’iyah tribes, Monser Al-Mashwali, demanded the immediate withdrawal of the military campaign to reach fair solutions, asserting that “Al-Wazi’iyah is not soft ground.”

Tribal sources revealed that the reason for the armed campaign was citizens taking a laptop and lists from an organization’s workers in protest against the failure to register poor families among the beneficiaries.
