Man wielding knife killed by police at US St. Louis airport

WASHINGTON, Nov. 22 (YPA) – US Police announced on Friday that a man was killed by security authorities’ gunfire at St. Louis Lambert International Airport in Missouri after he pulled out a knife during security screening procedures.

The incident occurred at 1:05 a.m. in Terminal 1. Mary Schmit, spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police, stated that the suspect refused to drop the weapon and officers initially attempted to subdue him with an electrical Taser.

Schmit added that “The suspect continued to advance toward the officers, and another officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect.” The man was pronounced dead at the scene, with no other injuries reported.
