Israeli occupation forces advance into Al-Quneitra countryside, amid heavy gunfire

DAMASCUS, Nov. 22 (YPA) – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Friday that an Israeli military patrol set off from Tel Al-Ahmar Al-Gharbi base and headed to Tel Al-Ahmar Al-Sharqi in the middle countryside of Al-Quneitra, amid firing bullets heavily in the air.

According to the SOHR, this incursion triggered tension and public concerns about potential security escalation.

The group reported that Israeli forces set up two new temporary checkpoints on Thursday, one on the road between Ruwayhinah village and Be’er Ajam town in the central Al-Qunaitrah countryside, and the other at the entrance of Be’er Ajam

They inspected passersby and checked their identification documents, amid a state of fear among residents due to the repeated Israeli movements in the area.

In a related development, an Israeli military spokesperson released footage documenting an operation inside Syrian territory, noting that reserve troops from the 55th Brigade had been redeployed to southern Syria under the command of the 210th Division.

Israeli forces have carried out repeated military activities in southern Syria in recent years, which Israel says are security measures. Damascus, however, considers these operations violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
