Israeli occupation forces launch wide-scale raids across West Bank

WEST BANK, Nov. 19 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces at dawn of Wednesday carried out extensive raids across several areas of the occupied West Bank early Wednesday, sparking clashes, mass detentions, and house searches, following Tuesday’s Gush Etzion attack, which left one Israeli settler dead and several others injured.

In the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, Israeli occupation troops imposed a full security lockdown, blocking movement in and out of the area.

Soldiers detained more than 100 Palestinians, gathering them in the town’s football field for on-site interrogation.

Another military unit raided the home of Walid Sabarneh, one of the Palestinians accused of carrying out the attack. The occupation Forces welded shut the entrance to the house and prevented family members from entering.

Raids also extended to al-Far’a refugee camp south of Tubas, where occupation forces deployed an infantry unit throughout residential neighborhoods and searched several homes.

In Hebron city, the occupation  forces stormed the Abu Ekteileh neighborhood and detained several young men from the Karama and Junaidi families, releasing some after field interrogations.

In Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, Palestinian fighters reportedly targeted Israeli forces with an explosive device during a raid. Meanwhile, the occupation forces fired multiple sound grenades during their incursion into Beit Ummar.

This  came hours after a stabbing and car-ramming attack on Tuesday at the Gush Etzion junction south of Bethlehem, which killed one settler and wounded eight others.  Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire at two Palestinian youths, claiming they were responsible for the attack.
