SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The Yemeni National Football Team achieved an overwhelming victory over its counterpart, the Bhutan national team, scoring seven goals to one, in the match played on Tuesday, as part of the fifth round of the final stage qualifying for the Asian Cup finals.
The match saw a stellar performance from player Nasser Mohamedoh, who scored a hat-trick (three goals). Haroun Al-Zubaidi opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed by Mohamedoh’s second goal in the 20th minute.
After the break, Mohamedoh enhanced the result with his second and the team’s third goal, while Adel Abbas and Omar Joulan scored the fourth and fifth goals, before Mohamedoh concluded the goal-fest with the sixth and seventh goals.
With this win, Yemen’s National Team raised its tally to 11 points, maintaining second place in Group B, behind leaders Lebanon with 13 points, who also defeated Brunei (3-0).
