PARIS, Nov. 18 (YPA) – French President Emmanuel Macron signed a memorandum of understanding with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, which includes Kyiv’s purchase of 100 French Rafale fighter jets over the coming years.
This took place during their meeting at Villacoubay Air Base near Paris, where Zelenskyy arrived for his ninth official visit to the country since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The memorandum of understanding includes Ukraine’s purchase of military defense equipment from France over the coming years.
French media quoted sources at the Élysée Palace as saying that the memorandum includes Kyiv’s purchase, over the next 10 years, of approximately 100 Rafale fighter jets, in addition to the new-generation SAMP-T air defense systems, which are still under development, as well as radar systems and drones.
