3,5 magnitude earthquake strikes Zabid in Hodeida

DHAMAR, Nov. 16 (YPA) – The stations of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center in Dhamar Governorate recorded a new earthquake on Sunday, which was felt by residents of the southern areas of Hodeida Governorate.

The head of the monitoring center, Engineer Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, confirmed to 26 September Net that the earthquake measured 3.5 on the Richter scale northwest of the coastal city of Zabid.

He indicated that the earthquake occurred at 12:41 PM, following a similar tremor on October 16th measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale, located 5 km southeast of Zabid.

The tremor came after four earthquakes struck the eastern Gulf of Aden region last Thursday, the strongest of which measured 4.5 on the Richter scale.
