OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Nov. 12 (YPA) – Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, a top adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, announced his resignation on Tuesday, Hebrew media reported.
His resignation came weeks of speculation in Israeli media and marks the end of his tenure, which began in late 2022 when he was appointed to the post after several years as Israel’s ambassador to Washington.
Dermer was one of Netanyahu’s closest advisors and played a key role in negotiating the October ceasefire with the Trump administration and Arab states.
He served as Israel’s ambassador to the United States from 2013 to 2021, a period that overlapped with former President Donald Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2021.
