Iran condemns Israeli aggression against Lebanon

TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (YPA) – Iran condemned on Friday the Zionist entity’s large-scale military aggression against various parts of Lebanon.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA, affirmed the responsibility of the United Nations, the international community, and the countries of the region to confront, hold accountable, and punish the Zionist occupation’s warmongering policies.

It warned of the serious repercussions of this entity’s impunity and the continuation of its expansionist and war-mongering policies on regional peace and security.

The ministry stated that the Zionist entity’s military attacks on Lebanon, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more than a thousand innocent Lebanese citizens and the destruction of infrastructure and residential areas since the ceasefire agreement in November 2015, constitute a clear violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent state and are considered a heinous crime against international peace and security.

The Foreign Ministry added that these criminal attacks, undoubtedly planned and executed with the full support and complicity of America, are further proof of the criminal, terrorist, and expansionist nature of the Zionist entity. They have no other objective than to undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty and security and prevent the reconstruction and development of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed its condolences for the martyrdom of Lebanese citizens during the brutal attacks launched by the Zionist entity, affirming its solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon against the criminal violations of this entity, as well as its support for the legitimate Lebanese resistance and the country’s efforts to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
