OCCUPIED PLAESTINE, Oct. 29 (YPA) – Israeli occupation army chief of staff Eyal Zamir issued a threat to the Hamas movement on Wednesday, accusing it of failing to uphold its commitments under the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
The Hebrew newspaper Maariv quoted Zamir as saying:: “If Hamas does not fulfill its obligations, it will pay a heavy price.”
Earlier this morning, the Israeli army announced the death of one of its reserve soldiers, who succumbed to wounds sustained after a military unit was attacked in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza, on Tuesday.
In a statement, the occupation military explained that the soldier was part of a force operating on the outskirts of the city when it came under attack, resulting in serious injuries that later led to his death.
Meanwhile, Palestinian officials said that at least 91 people had been killed and dozens wounded since Tuesday night as Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas across the Gaza Strip.
The attacks, they said, constitute violations of the current truce.
