Palestinian factions agree to hand Gaza to technocrat committee, call to activate PLO

CAIRO, Oct. 25 (YPA) -The Palestinian factions meeting in Cairo issued a statement on Friday calling for an urgent meeting of all Palestinian groups to develop a unified national strategy.

The factions emphasized the need to reactivate the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, expanding its membership to include all components of Palestinian society, including Hamas.

According to the statement, the factions decided “to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a temporary Palestinian committee composed of independent technocrats from among the people of the Strip, which will manage daily life and essential services in cooperation with Arab countries and international institutions.”

The factions also called for a UN resolution authorizing the deployment of temporary international forces to monitor the ceasefire in Gaza.

They affirmed their commitment to implementing the ceasefire agreement, stressing the need for a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip, the lifting of the blockade, and the reopening of all crossings, including Rafah.

The factions agreed to take all necessary measures to maintain security and stability throughout Gaza.

They further called for an immediate and comprehensive reconstruction process to restore normal life and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian and medical aid.
