Businessman abducted in Taiz by pro-Islah Party militants

TAIZA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Armed elements loyal to the Islah Party forcibly entered the home of businessman Ibrahim Al-Majan in Al-Turbah city of Taiz province and took him and several members of his family to an unknown location, human rights sources reported on Sunday.

The sources stated that the raid took place late at night, after military vehicles belonging to the so-called “Special Forces” led by Jamil Aqlan surrounded the house. The elements forcibly entered the house at gunpoint, causing widespread panic among the women and children inside.

According to the sources, Al-Majan and his family were taken to one of the Islah factions’ prisons in Al-Turbah, in what was described as a “flagrant violation of human rights.” The factions have not disclosed the reasons for the arrest.

The abduction incident is part of a series of ongoing abuses in areas controlled by the Saudi-led coalition, amid a lack of effective state authorities.
