Meteorology warns citizens of cold wave targeting mountainous areas

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned on Sunday elderly citizens, children, and workers in the mountainous areas of relatively cold and chilly weather.

In its weather bulletin, the center affirmed that clear to partly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers in the provinces of Socotra Archipelago, Taiz, Ibb, Rayma, Hajjah, Mahweet, Hodieda, western Dhamar, and Saada.

It expected that relatively cold to cold weather would be prevailed during the night and early morning in Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran, Saada, Bayda, and Ibb, and in the highlands of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Dhalea, Taiz, Mahweet, and Rayma. Minimum temperatures will range between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius.

It also warned of poor visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to fog.
