Gaza sewage pumps cease operation due to Israeli incursion

GAZA, Oct. 18 (YPA) -The Gaza Municipality confirmed on Saturday that all eight sewage pumps in the city have stopped functioning either partially or completely due to the recent Israeli incursion.

In a press statement, the municipality explained that the sanitation systems have been severely damaged, leading to significant water leakage throughout the city.

The statement added, “We are facing an environmental disaster due to the sewage leakage mixing with underground water.”

It also warned of the risk of seawater contamination and the potential mixing of sewage with drinking water reservoirs.

The municipality also urgently called for the entry of maintenance tools and electricity generators to repair the water infrastructure.
