Israeli occupation authorities begin transferring Palestinian prisoners to be released in exchange deal
OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Oct. 11 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities began transferring and gathering the Palestinian prisoners scheduled to be released in the exchange deal.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Prison Service received orders to release security prisoners as part of the exchange deal.
It noted that the transfer of security prisoners from five prisons to designated release facilities has begun.
The exchange deal includes the release of approximately 250 prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 from Gaza arrested after October 7, 2023, the newspaper added.
On Thursday evening, Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas movement in Gaza and head of its negotiating delegation, announced that an agreement had been reached to end the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. He confirmed that the agreement paves the way for the implementation of a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of enemy forces, in addition to the entry of aid and the opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions.
