GAZA, Oct. 09 (YPA) – Hazem Qasem, the spokesperson for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said on Thursday that the Israeli enemy is attempting to procrastinate the agreement implementation, but Hamas remains in constant contact with the mediators and guaranteeing nations to ensure the full implementation of the agreement.
Qasem confirmed that there are timetables and lists of prisoners established according to the agreed-upon standards. He stated that the exchange process will take place after the Israeli enemy approves the list submitted by Hamas, with operations commencing either one day or several hours after approval.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Qasem indicated that ending the war was the central goal of all negotiation rounds, and that the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement represents the end of the war on the Gaza Strip.
He clarified that the arrangements for the prisoner exchange process are clear and agreed upon, despite some obstacles resulting from the Israeli enemy’s internal conditions and political constraints. He highlighted the role of Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States as mediators and guarantors for the agreement’s implementation, despite the delays.
The Hamas spokesperson pointed out that the first phase of the exchange includes both living and deceased prisoners within 72 hours, while acknowledging the field difficulties resulting from the massive destruction caused by the enemy in the Gaza Strip. He added that Hamas will continue coordination with the mediators to overcome these hurdles and ensure the success of the national agreement.
Qasem affirmed that the agreement achieves the Palestinian people’s aspiration to end the war, facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, and allow the people of Gaza to live on their land with dignity and honor.
He clarified that the first phase concludes with the withdrawal to the agreed-upon lines and the delivery of all agreed-upon prisoners, enabling the people to begin a new chapter of steadfastness and life.
