Pro-UAE commander survives assassination attempt in Shabwa
SHABWA, Oct. 05 (YPA) – A prominent military commander in the UAE-backed factions survived an assassination attempt by an improvised explosive device (IED) on Saturday at the entrance to Ataq city, the center of Shabwa province in southeastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that unknown gunmen targeted a military vehicle carrying the Salafi leader Raed Al-Habbahi, who was appointed by the UAE as the commander of the “First Al-Amaliqa Brigade,” near the Bin Amer station in Ataq.
The sources indicated that the incident resulted in damage to the military vehicle, but there were no reported injuries to Al-Habbahi or his companions.
