Iran declares execution of six people on charges of collaborating with Israeli occupation

TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Iran’s judiciary announced, on Saturday, that it had executed six people it said were members of a “terrorist” group collaborating with “Israel” and convicted of carrying out armed attacks in Khuzestan province in the southwest of the country.

The judiciary said via the Mizan Online website, “The death sentence was carried out at dawn today against six “terrorist separatists” who carried out a series of armed operations and bombings targeting the security of Khuzestan province in recent years.”

In a related development, Iran announced last Monday that it had executed a man on charges of spying for the occupation, in the latest wave of executions the country has witnessed in decades.

Iran identified the executed man as Bahman Choubiasl, whose case was not immediately known in Iranian media reports or to activists who follow death penalty cases in the Islamic Republic.

Iran accused Choubiasl of holding meetings with officials from Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.

Mizan News Agency, the official mouthpiece of Iran’s judiciary, reported that Choubiasl was working on sensitive telecommunications projects and reported on the import routes of electronic devices.
