Senior official clarifies Sanaa’s sanctions imposed on American crude oil

SANAA, 03 (YPA) – A senior official gave clarifications on Thursday regarding the ceasefire agreement between Sanaa and Washington following a decision to impose sanctions on companies exporting American crude oil.

Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Ansarallah Political Bureau, said in a post on X that the US oil export ban comes into effect within military operations theater and the ban is not a violation of the ceasefire agreement between Yemen and the United States, but rather a just response to the US ban on fuel imports into Yemen.

He added: “We will not allow America to impose the equation of unilateral aggression and economic blockade. We will meet aggression with aggression and blockade with blockade.”

Al-Bukhaiti stressed that the silence of the world’s countries regarding American arrogance would turn the world into an arena of conflict governed by the law of the jungle.

He noted that these inhumane practices underscored the need for a new international order based on justice to protect the dignity and freedom of peoples, not on the subordination of the weak to the strong or the dependence of the poor on the rich.

He concluded by saying, “Our hand remains extended to build a just international system that achieves security, stability, and peace for all peoples of the world without discrimination.”
