SHABWA, Oct. 03 (YPA) – Several American military experts arrived at Shabwa province to reorganize and re-equip the extremist Salafi factions of the so-called UAE-backed Al Amliaqa forces (Giants) on the West Coast and Shabwa.
Local sources familiar with the matter said that the experts would to conduct an assessment and reorganization of the “Giants” factions on the Tihama coast in western Yemen, in addition to the factions that were transferred to Shabwa in early 2020. They indicated that the assessment would be based on health checks, physical tests, weapons use tests, and field tactics.
The sources indicated that the American experts would also focus on emphasizing the ideological aspect adopted by Salafi elements in confronting the so-called Iranian threats in Yemen, in a sectarian and regional incitement directed against the Sanaa forces, which have posed a terrifying nightmare for Israeli and American agendas since the declaration of war on Yemen in March 2015, while continuing to block Israeli shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas for nearly two years in support of the people of Gaza.
The sources stated that “the Salafist factions and others are merely tools funded by the coalition, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, to implement foreign projects in Yemen”. This has been accompanied by the establishment of more than 25 centers for Salafist groups in Aden and other southern provinces, run by the extremist Yahya al-Hajouri.
They noted that the Salafist groups have become factions divided between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with incitement against the Salafist movement continuing in the al-Fayoush district of Lahj province by groups arriving in the southern provinces.
