Al-Mashat: September 26 Revolution deviated from its path, and September 21 Revolution came to correct it

SANAA, Sept. 25 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi al-Mashat, delivered this evening a speech on the 63rd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, in which he analyzed the historical failures of the revolution and how it paved the way for the September 21 Revolution, which the Yemeni people are currently leading.

In his speech, President Al-Mashat pointed out that the September 26 Revolution was subjected early on to “breaches and conspiracies” that caused it to deviate from its path, which left Yemen, despite decades passing, among the poorest and most corrupt countries. He explained that the main reason was the lack of sincere leadership to protect the revolution, which allowed the corrupt to seize immense resources and build their fortunes abroad at the people’s expense.

Al-Mashat stressed that subservience to foreign powers killed the spirit of the revolution, depriving the country of its national decision-making and sovereignty, noting that the war against the Yemeni people did not stop until “the true revolutionaries were ousted and every sincere voice was silenced.”

He affirmed that “the lessons of history do not lie or flatter” and that the September 21 Revolution drew its awareness and strength from the lessons the people learned from past conspiracies, which enabled it to correct the course and fortify its gains.

In conclusion, Al-Mashat addressed a message to the Yemeni people, calling on them to continue defending the September 21 Revolution against those who are greedy, stressing that their solidarity and the guidance of the leadership will lead them to “the desired Yemen, the Yemen of glory, freedom, and dignity.”
