SANAA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Human rights activist and prominent recipient of the French Marianne Award, Eman Homaid, has accused a media figure loyal to the Saudi-led coalition of waging a “blackmail campaign” against her.
In a post on the ‘X’ platform on Sunday evening, Eman Homaid ,’ who heads the so-called ‘Insaaf Center,’ funded by the US embassy and European Union countries, stated that she is ‘subjected to a vile cheap blackmail campaign’ by Faris Al-Sulaihi.
She added, ‘He deliberately harasses me whenever he happens to meet me at conferences or forums, pretending to be friendly while harboring ill intentions, and continues to stalk me with private messages containing suspicious motives.’
Homid further stated, ‘Three years ago, he slandered me with degrading posts on social media, then later returned, begging for forgiveness with weak excuses, only to become more audacious and persistent, using fake accounts and methods that contradict values, morals, and norms.’
She pointed out that ‘these actions reveal the true nature of some self-proclaimed virtuous and nationalistic individuals who wallow in the swamp of debasement while hypocritically raising false banners of virtue and patriotism.’
Homid vowed to file a lawsuit to stop what she called ‘blatant blackmail’ by ‘Al-Sulaihi,’ and to take legal action against him and anyone involved in such despicable acts.
