TUNISIA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – The first vessel of the “Global Sumud Flotilla” departed on Saturday from the port of Bizerte in Tunisia to break the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip for 18 years.
On board, the ship carries activists of various nationalities, including human rights advocates and journalists, along with symbolic humanitarian aid. This act expresses solidarity with the people of the besieged Strip.
This is the beginning of a series of ships that the flotilla plans to launch from Arab and European ports in the coming weeks. The initiative is part of a broad international campaign to highlight the suffering of Palestinians and call for an end to the blockade.
Organizers of the initiative affirmed that the journey is purely peaceful and humanitarian. Despite anticipating Israeli pressure and threats, they are determined to proceed with their mission to ensure Gaza’s voice reaches the world.
