ALGERIA, Sept. 12 (YPA) – Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the Security Council, Amar Benjamaa, accused “Israel” of acting as if it were above the law, revealing the expansion of its aggression after it “attacked Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Qatar within days.
Benjamaa explicitly also accused the occupation of killing thousands of innocent people in Gaza, expressing his deep resentment at the world’s inability to respond.
In a powerful speech before the UN Security Council, the Algerian delegate described the attack on Doha as a cowardly aggression and a reckless act.
He stressed Algeria’s full solidarity with the state of Qatar and its people.
Benjamaa added that this attack, along with the attacks on Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, represented a blatant insult to diplomacy and an attempt to undermine mediation efforts and spread chaos in the region.
The Algerian diplomat sharply criticized the international community and the Security Council, warning that silence regarding Israeli practices would fuel chaos and undermine the global order.
He concluded that the Council’s failure to even characterize the Israeli aggression as a clear violation of international law represents a serious failure in the Council’s fundamental duty to maintain international peace and security.
