DAMASCUS, Sept. 07 (YPA) – The tribes of Sweida province in Syria declared on Saturday their categorical rejection of what they described as the policy of forced displacement to which the residents are subjected.
In a statement issued on Saturday, they emphasized that any attempts to replace their homes with temporary caravans would not be an acceptable alternative to their original homes.
The statement clarified that the people of the province were demanding the return to their lands and the restitution of the property that was stolen, noting that they were the original owners and inhabitants of the land and would not accept being treated as strangers in their homeland.
The tribes affirmed that their adherence to their historical rights to land and housing represents a collective, non-negotiable position, calling on the relevant authorities to respect the will of the residents and ensure their dignified return to their homes.
