JORDAN, Sept. 07 (YPA) – Jordan’s government spokesman and Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad al-Momani said on Saturday that Jordan’s position would represent a line of fire against any attempts at forced displacement of Palestinians.
Ammon News Agency quoted Momani as saying that forced displacement is a war crime and a crime against humanity being prohibited by international law.
“The right of return is an inalienable, fundamental, humane, and legal right, emphasizing that neither the Palestinian people nor the countries of the region, especially Jordan, accept such practices,” he added.
The minister warned that the displacement policy represents a blatant attack on the rights of the Palestinian people, their land, and their state, and a declaration of war on the sovereignty of states.
Momani described the ideas calling for displacement as reflecting an outdated racist mentality that is outside the framework of human values.
