Norway urges strong alliances against Israel’s “destructive policies”

OSLO, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik stressed the need to continue building diplomatic alliances against Israel’s destructive policies.

This statement came in response to a United Nations report confirming the spread of famine in Gaza governorate.

“What we see in the Gaza Strip is considered unacceptable and a violation of international law,” Kravik said in a press statement.

He accused the Israeli government of waging a war on Gazans without regard for even the minimum international laws.

Kravik noted that Norway has already taken measures to ease the suffering of Palestinians, including imposing sanctions on far-right Israeli ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir.

Additionally, Oslo plans to ban Norwegian companies from engaging in commercial activities that support Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

He also rejected recent remarks by the Israeli Foreign Minister that Europe must choose between “Israel” and Hamas.

Kravik added, “Israel cannot use October 7 as a basis to do what is not in accordance with international law.”

According to Kravik, such actions “will not safeguard Israel’s security or its borders, but rather turn it into a rogue state.”
