Israeli airstrikes target vital facilities in Sanaa
SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Violent explosions rocked the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Sunday evening, after Israeli airstrikes targeted the oil company’s station on 60th Street and Hizyaz power station south of the city, according to a security source in Sanaa.
These attacks came after the failure of Israeli defenses to intercept a Yemeni multi-stage fragmentation missile launched earlier.
Activists circulated images from the heart of residential neighborhoods rocked by the explosions, showing shattered windows and damaged homes in the vicinity of the targeted areas. Civil defense teams quickly extinguished the fires and evacuated families.
The new attacks sparked widespread condemnation, with human rights organizations warning that targeting civilian facilities poses a direct threat to the lives of millions of Yemenis and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in a country facing a war that has been ongoing for nearly a decade.
