MARIB, Aug. 22 (YPA) -A devastating fire broke out at Al-Jouda Plastic and Insulation Factory in Marib province controlled by the Saudi-led coalition factions, following recent tribal clashes in the Wadi District.
The fire caused significant material losses, completely destroying the factory.
Activists on social media shared images and video footage of the blaze, which destroyed all of the factory’s equipment, raw materials, and plastic products, with damages estimated to exceed 20 million Saudi Riyals.
According to media reports, the factory’s manager stated that the fire consumed all machinery, tools, and raw materials, halting production and leading to the dismissal of workers.
He described the losses as a severe blow to the factory’s owners and to the families of employees who relied on the factory for their living
The manager confirmed that the cause of the fire was the recent tribal armed clashes near the factory’s location.
He called on the local authorities in the city, which is under de facto occupation, to take action to protect citizens’ property and compensate those affected by the disaster.
