Sudden fires cause terror among people in Mocha

TAIZ, Aug. 20 (YPA) – A number of sudden fires have sparked panic and terror among the residents of the coastal city of Mocha over the past few hours, which is under the control of Emirati factions west of Taiz Governorate.

A human rights source said: “The fires broke out due to short circuits in power lines in a number of areas of the city as a result of the rain, due to the random connection of electrical wires that have become almost dilapidated.”

He added that the electricity poles in the streets have become a source of terror for residents due to the short circuits, amid the absence of the role of the concerned authorities, security and safety measures.

He stated that most residents rushed to disconnect the electricity in their homes and shops when it rained, to limit any short circuits that could lead to the outbreak of fires.
