GENEVA, Aug. 12 (YPA) – The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, condemned the killing of journalists in the Gaza Strip during an Israeli airstrike.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that at least 242 journalists have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war, adding: “Journalists and media workers must be respected and protected, and allowed to carry out their work freely without fear or harassment.”
The spokesperson confirmed that Guterres condemned the killing of journalists in Gaza and called for an independent and impartial investigation into the incident.
