13-year-old girl killed by lightning strike in Mahwit

MAHWIT, Aug. 04(YPA) -A 13-year-old girl has died after being struck by lightning at her father’s home in Al-Mahwit Governorate on Monday.

According to local sources, the incident took place in Al-Mahwit District.

The girl was rushed to the Republican Hospital in the province, where she was pronounced dead.

The sources called on residents in mountainous areas to take necessary safety precautions during thunderstorms, such as unplugging electrical devices, disconnecting batteries, and isolating solar panels to prevent similar incidents
