Palestinian Center: Israeli occupation continues to detain 24 doctors from Gaza amid harsh conditions

GAZA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – The Palestinian Center for Defense of Prisoners announced, on Monday, that the occupation continues to detain 24 doctors from Gaza amid harsh conditions.

The center indicated that the occupation has arrested more than 400 medical personnel since the beginning of the aggression in October 2023, whereas most of them were later released without charges.

It considered that human rights reports confirm that medical detainees are subjected to severe torture and systematic psychological humiliation.

It also indicated that targeting medical personnel is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and constitutes a full-fledged war crime.

The Palestinian center launched international calls to release the detained doctors and hold the occupation accountable for its violations against the health sector in Gaza.
