LAHJ, July 22 (YPA) – Lahj Electricity Corporation, under coalition control, launched a campaign to cut off power to commercial establishments that have defaulted on bill payments in the Al-Hawtah and Tuban districts of Abyan governorate, despite citizens’ complaints about power outages for most hours of the day.
The campaign included many areas in Lahj, such as Al-Mahalla, Sabr, Al-Khatt Al-Am, Al-Fayoush, Bir Nasser, and Al-Rabat.
The corporation mocked citizens, saying that they aimed to ensure continuity of service, noting that the diesel needed to operate the station had run out.
Activists on social media criticized the campaign, considering that demand for payment in light of the repeated outages is “illogical.”
