German police arrest pro-Gaza supporters amid excessive violence

BEERLIN, July 14 (YPA) – Protesters in the German capital, Berlin, faced excessive police violence as they protested against the genocidal war the Israeli occupation’s committing against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Berlin’s Neptune Square in solidarity with Palestine against the Israeli war crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

The protesters raised Palestinian flags and held signs reading “This is not a war, it’s genocide”, “Boycott Israel, Stop arming Israel”, “The children of Gaza want to live”, and “Israel is a terrorist child killer”.

The protests coincided with heightened security measures taken by police that arrested a number of protesters using violence against them.

The excessive police violence resulted in the injury of a protester, who was taken to the hospital after receiving first aid at the scene.
