Israeli guard killed, four injured in West Bank double operation

QUDS, July 10 (YPA) – An Israeli guard was killed on Thursday and four others were injured in a double stabbing and a shooting at the Gush Etzion Junction, north of Hebron in the West Bank.

Israeli Channel 14 reported the shooting happened inside a shopping mall in the Gush Etzion settlement by two Palestinians.

The sources said the two attackers pulled out a security guard’s arms after stabbing him and opened fire. They then clashed with army forces and exchanged fire before they were neutralized.”

The channel noted that the occupation forces closed the entrances to the cities of Hebron and Bethlehem in the West Bank following the attack.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli soldier was injured in a stabbing attack in the town of Rummana, west of Jenin, while the perpetrator was killed.

This operation comes at a time when the West Bank had witnessed a major escalation since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
