Three unions warn against dismantling ‘Yemeni Ground Services Company’

ADEN, July 09 (YPA) – Three labor unions have expressed concerns about the dismantling of the Yemeni Ground Services Company, a company that has been able to maintain quality services since 2015 despite political tensions.

The Yemeni Ground Services Company Employees Union, Ground Equipment Engineers and Technicians Union, and the Ground Services Trade Union Committee wrote a joint letter to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia, Nasser Mahmoud Qasim, stating that opening new bank accounts in Aden to pay service fees could threaten the company financially and administratively.

The unions emphasized that the company’s employees demonstrated outstanding professional performance and that the general management was committed to disbursing employee benefits and maintaining stations damaged by the war without discrimination.

However, the unions expressed concern about recent measures requiring service fees to be transferred to new accounts, which raised concerns among employees about continued payment of dues.

The unions called on the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airlines to maintain the unity of the Yemenia Ground Services Company and return to the unified mechanism for revenues and expenditures management.
