Trump: There is no “obstacles” in reaching a ceasefire deal between “Israel” and Hamas

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 08 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump announced early Tuesday that he sees ‘no obstacles to a ceasefire between Hamas and “Israel”, asserting that ‘things are moving along very well.

“There was no “hold-up” in reaching a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. I think things are going along very well,” he said during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, where they discussed developments in the region—chiefly the situation in Gaza and US–Israeli relations.

Trump and Netanyahu once again spoke about plans for the displacement of Palestinians during their meeting.

In this context, Trump said the US has “great cooperation” from surrounding countries. “So something good will happen.”

For his part, Netanyahu told Donald Trump that he would nominate him for the Nobel peace prize, expressing his appreciation for the US support during Trump’s presidency.

He rejected the idea of establishing a Palestinian state, saying: “Some are asking us to give the Palestinians a state, but it would become a platform for our destruction.”

Netanyahu added that “Israel” could reach peace with Palestinians who do not seek its destruction, but that “security will remain in our hands.”

On Monday, Pro-Palestinian activists gathered in front of the White House in Washington, D.C., to protest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the United States.
