Reserve Zionist soldier slams Israeli occupation army: We’re achieving nothing in Gaza

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 03 (YPA) -An Israeli reserve soldier currently serving in the war on Gaza has issued scathing criticism of the Israeli government and its handling of the ongoing military campaign, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Thursday.

“At a certain point, I lost faith in what we’re doing in Gaza,” the soldier said. “We’re not achieving anything there except putting ourselves in danger again and again.”

He continued: “Every time I approached a tunnel opening, I thought—what if the intelligence is wrong? What if there are hostages inside? It’s obvious to anyone with common sense that this war is being prolonged for political reasons.”

The soldier also disclosed that troops are being forced to serve an additional four months of reserve duty, with those who refuse facing threats of imprisonment or being labeled traitors.

Haaretz noted that this soldier is among thousands of Israeli troops who have expressed strong criticism of the government’s decision to prolong the conflict, especially as military casualties continue to rise.
