In Video: Rebellion erupts among Saudi-backed forces after dismissal of Salafi leader

NAJRAN, July 02 (YPA) -Armed militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition have announced their rebellion after Saudi Arabia dismissed Salafi leader Abdulrahman Al-Loum from the command of “Al-Buqa” front near the border of Najran.

The Saudi decision has sparked the anger of Al-Loum’s loyal recruits, following the appointment of Salafi leader Raddad Al-Hashimi as the new commander of the so-called “Al-Buqa and Kitaf Axis.”

These recruits strongly rejected the decision, taking up arms to voice their opposition.

They gathered from various military sites, traveling in military vehicles to the command headquarters to protest the decision, amid rising tensions that could lead to an armed clash between those loyal to Al-Loum and Al-Hashemi.

Al-Hashimi has called upon the so-called “military police” to quell the rebellion of the recruits, who are demanding Al-Loum’s return to the front’s command.

It’s worth noting that Saudi Arabia has recruited thousands of Salafi and southern mercenaries over the past years, using them as a shield to protect its borders from retaliatory strikes by Sanaa forces.
